Microsoft will discontinue support for Facebook Chat and Google Chat in Outlook.com. In an email to Outlook.com customers, Microsoft said it is removing Google Talk integration “due to Google’s decision to discontinue the chat protocol used by the Google Talk platform.”.

Google has officially acquired, mobile payment solution company Softcard following reports last month. Softcard is backed by Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
