Lenovo Legion gaming phone and ASUS ROG Phone 3 5G are the two smartphones to be announced on July 22 and ASUS India has now confirmed that the ROG Phone 3 with Snapdragon 865 Plus will also be launching in India on the same day as well. Lenovo Legion gaming phone with FHD+ 144Hz display, Snapdragon 865+, 16GB RAM to be announced on July 22

After teaser Lenovo today confirmed that it will introduce its first Legion gaming phone on July 22nd, the same day of the ASUS ROG Phone 3 is announced. It has also confirmed that it will be one of the first smartphones to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 865+ Mobile Platform with up to 3.1 GHz prime core offering 10% increase in CPU and GPU performance. Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus Mobile Platform offers 10% faster performance, will power ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion phone

Qualcomm has just announced its latest Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform as an incremental upgrade to the Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform. This packs Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU Prime core clock speed at up to 3.1 GHz, offering 10% increase in CPU performance and the Adreno 650 GPU offers 10% faster graphics rendering compared to 865, while the other cores are same. Synaptics acquires Broadcom’s Wireless IoT Connectivity business for $250 million

Synaptics, a company that specialises in human interface solutions has announced that they will be acquiring the rights to the wireless IoT business of Broadcom, which includes their Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GNSS products and businesses in the IoT market, in a $250 million agreement.

Intel introduces Thunderbolt 4 universal USB Type-C connectivity solution with 40Gbps bandwidth

Intel just announced Thunderbolt 4, the next-generation Thunderbolt with USB4 specification. It still has USB-C connector offering 40Gbps speed, same as the Thunderbolt 3, but this will offer docks with up to four Thunderbolt ports and universal cables up to 2 meters in length. It has also doubled  minimum video and data requirements of Thunderbolt 3 and expanded end-to-end solution capabilities. H.266/VVC codec will be 50% more efficient than H.265/HEVC without quality compromise

Fraunhofer, which developed H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC has finalized H.266/Versatile Video Coding (VVC), a new global video coding standard after being in development for almost three years. It promises improved compression, which reduces data requirements by around 50% compared to previous standard H.265/High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) without compromising visual quality. Samsung Galaxy Unpacked virtual event scheduled for August 5, Galaxy Note20 series expected

After rumours, Samsung has officially scheduled Samsung Galaxy Unpacked virtual event on August. Samsung says that it will unveil the “latest ecosystem of Galaxy devices designed to empower your life”. The invite shows a drop from S Pen that falls and splashes, and it is in the Mystic Bronze colour. Based on recent rumours the company is expected to introduce Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
