Google has announced a small but meaningful change to their Camera app that involves providing the user with a better experience with face retouching filters. The app will now have these filters turned off by default, and if the user does wish to use it, Google will now provide more information as to what changes the app will attempt to make.
Paytm, one of India’s leading digital wallet and payment solutions, is introducing a new feature in its app called Mini apps, along with its own accompanying Android Mini App store. These “Mini apps” will be distributed from inside the Paytm app and can use a variety of payment solutions like Paytm Wallet, Paytm Payments Bank, UPI, etc.

Lenovo has announced new laptops in their premium ThinkPad series and ThinkBook series of laptops. In the ThinkPad series, the newly announced ThinkPad X1 Nano is their thinnest laptop ever, weighing in at less than a kg, and is powered by Intel’s latest 11th gen Core CPUs. The ThinkBook series has been expanded with three new laptops — ThinkBook 13 Gen 2 i, ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 i and the ThinkBook 14s Yoga i.
Xiaomi’s portfolio of TVs have grown significantly over the past few years, and the latest to join the family is the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition that was launched on September 7th. The 4A Horizon Edition product line comes in two sizes: a 32-inch HD ready model and 43-inch FullHD model. The Surface Pro X launched last year as Microsoft attempt at producing a product with all of the promises of ARM based computing. Microsoft has announced a refresh for the thin-and-light device, offering an updated custom designed Microsoft SQ 2 processors, and a longer battery life of 15 hours.
Telegram has released a new update to its app, bringing the version to 7.1.0. With it, Telegram is adding a few new features for its chats, which include filters for its Search function, anonymous group admins, Channel comments, new animations and of course, more animated emoji.

Apple released The iOS 14.2 Beta 2 is out for developers today, and as expected, the beta reveals many of the new emoji that Apple is planning to release to iOS soon. Apple previewed a few emoji previously, but now with the update, we can see loads more such as the smiling face with tear, Disguised face, gender variations of people wearing a veil or tuxedo and more.
Google has integrated its powerful voice recognition software and its Google Assistant in many of their apps and software, such as Call Screen, which is a solution to reduce the possibility of picking up spam calls. Now, Google has added yet another feature — Hold For Me, where the Google Assistant will monitor your call on hold and notify the user when the operator on the other end returns.
Just yesterday, Facebook released its Account Center feature, bringing Facebook, Instagram and Messenger closer. Now, Instagram has announced a new update to its Direct Messages, bringing its chats closer to Facebook Messenger and also adding multiple features from Messenger such as Message replies, customizable chat colors and themes, and more.

Truke, makers of audio products such as wireless stereos and wireless headphones, have announced the launch of two new truly wireless earbuds – the Fit Pro Power and Fit Buds. These each feature long battery lives with a 2000 mAh battery case for the Fit Pro Power and a 500 mAh charging case for the Fit buds, and they both connect via Bluetooth 5.0.
Since Facebook acquired Instagram back in 2012, they have been introducing many integrations between the its three services – Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Now, Facebook is testing a feature called Account Center, where users can quickly handle and control the various integrations between a user’s Facebook account, Messenger and Instagram all in one place.
While most of us these days use WhatsApp, Telegram and other instant messaging services for our conversations, SMS is still a very prevalent way for users to receive OTPs, transaction confirmations, offers and of course a lot of spam too. Google is now reportedly testing a feature in their Messages app that will automatically categorize incoming SMS messages, reducing clutter.
