ZEE5 FAST channels launched on Samsung Smart TVs in India

ZEE5 has announced the introduction of five curated free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on Samsung TV Plus India after launching on LG Smart TVs. This partnership allows Samsung Smart TV users to access a selection of ZEE5’s genre-specific entertainment without a subscription fee, marking a further step in the platform’s strategy to expand its presence on connected televisions.

The New Channel Lineup

The newly launched FAST channels draw from ZEE5’s existing content library and are structured to offer a scheduled, continuous viewing experience. The five channels now available are:

  • Zee Comedy Nation: Featuring a mix of comedic television shows and films.
  • Zee Dil Se: Focusing on dramatic television series.
  • ZEE Horror Nights: Broadcasting horror and supernatural titles.
  • ZEE Cine Classic: Dedicated to classic and timeless cinema.
  • ZEE South Flix: Presenting South Indian movies dubbed in Hindi.
Strategic Context and Viewer Trends

The introduction of these FAST channels aligns with current viewing behaviors observed by the platform. According to ZEE5, 64% of its premium content watch time currently occurs on Connected Devices. The launch addresses this growing consumer preference for consuming content on larger Smart TV screens by providing a traditional, lean-back viewing format.

Accessibility and International Expansion

Samsung Smart TV owners can access these channels directly through the Samsung TV Plus application. The app comes pre-installed on the devices and requires no login credentials or subscription fees to use.

This domestic launch follows Zee’s broader international expansion over the past year. The network has previously made its channels available on the Samsung TV Plus service to audiences in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
