Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.1 launched in India for Rs. 9999


Asus has launched the MeMo Pad (ME172V) in India. It was announced last month, and comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, powered by  a 1GHz WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 1MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 720p HD video capture at 30 fps and ƒ/2.0 aperture. It has non-slip diamond-patterned finish at the back. Asus also offers 5GB free ASUS WebStorage.

The SonicMaster Audio Technology and Audio Wizard which is equipped with award winning Maxx Audio offers precise and crystal sound effects. The ASUS Studio app lets you Manage, edit, and tag photos, SuperNote Lite app lets you Read, type, Floating App offers multi-tasking that lets run browser, Video, Sticky Memo, Stopwatch, and Countdown widgets, BuddyBuzz lets you easily browse all of your social networks in one place and takes notes, and the MyPainter app lets you paint or edit photos by adding effects.

This would compete with the Acer Iconia B1-A71 that was launched in India last month that has a similar screen and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 that got a price cut recently.

The Asus MeMO Pad (ME172V) comes in Sugar White, Titanium Gray and Cherry Pink colors and is priced at Rs. 9,999 (MRP) in India. You also get a USB OTG cable with the tablet.
