OPPO India just launched its latest Reno16 Series, featuring two new smartphones: the Reno16 and the Reno16c, as it had promised. Positioned as multi-functional devices for a younger demographic, the series integrates a creative studio, productivity features, and hardware updates into a single form factor.
The lineup debuts the industry’s first “HoloVerse 3D Design,” an upgraded AI-driven portrait camera system, and the latest iteration of the company’s custom interface, ColorOS 16.
Design and Display Specifications
The Reno16 Series introduces a new aesthetic identity based on OPPO’s proprietary HoloVerse 3D Technology.
- 3D Pop Planet Design: Exclusive to the Starry White variant, this feature utilizes a dual-layer optical structure and millions of microlenses to create a naked-eye 3D effect, making elements beneath the glass appear to float.
- Finishes & Colors: The devices incorporate a Floating 3D Glitter finish and a Dynamic Stellar Ring around the camera module. Both models are built with a one-piece cold-sculpted design and are available in three colorways: Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple.

The devices also introduce the AI Snap Key, a physical button that provides instant access to user tools such as the voice recorder, translator, camera, or the “Mind Space” storage hub.

The Reno16 series focuses heavily on its imaging capabilities, particularly for video and portrait photography.

- Reno16: Features a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera (100° field of view), supported by a Dual Flash System.
- Reno16c: Similarly configured with a 50MP Main Camera, an Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera.
- Telephoto Lens: Both models include a 50MP 3.5× Telephoto Portrait Camera, offering an 85mm equivalent focal length optimized for portrait photography.
Video and Imaging Software
The Reno16 supports All-Focal-Length 4K 60fps HDR video recording across its ultra-wide, main, and telephoto lenses. Auxiliary video features include 4K Auto Straighten to correct handheld drift in real-time and Zoom Free Video for smoother transitions.
For processing, OPPO introduces Natural Tone Imaging, a system engineered to balance skin tones and ambient lighting accurately without applying uniform beauty filters.
Additional creative software tools bundled with the devices include:
- AI Remix Collage: Automatically formats photos, Live Photos, and videos into customizable layouts.
- Pop Cam & Popout 2.0: Offers nine curated film/retro styles and advanced subject isolation for people, pets, and objects.
- Dual-View Video 2.0: Enables simultaneous recording from front and rear cameras with flexible layouts.
- AI Processing Suite: Includes utility tools such as AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Studio.
OPPO Bubble Ecosystem Accessory
Alongside the smartphones, OPPO introduced the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic smart camera companion weighing 27.5g.
Equipped with a 1.73-inch AMOLED display, the accessory mirrors the smartphone’s rear camera preview, allowing users to frame high-resolution selfies or group shots using the main sensors. The device features an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, a 550mAh battery, and functions additionally as a wireless remote control.
Performance, Battery, and ColorOS 16
The series splits its processing hardware between Qualcomm and MediaTek architectures:
- Reno16 Performance: Powered by the 4nm Snapdragon® 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, delivering up to a 27% increase in CPU performance (clock speeds up to 2.8GHz) and up to 30% faster GPU rendering compared to previous configurations.
- Reno16c Performance: Utilizes the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset (four 2.5GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores) paired with a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It supports up to 24GB of total RAM (12GB physical + 12GB virtual) and UFS 3.1 storage.
- Connectivity & Gaming: Both models feature AI LinkBoost 4.0 for improved network performance and AI HyperBoost 2.0 to stabilize gameplay up to 120 fps.
Battery Capacity
Battery specifications differ slightly to accommodate the chassis sizes. The Reno16 houses a 6,700mAh battery, while the larger Reno16c carries a 7,000mAh battery. Both models support proprietary 80W SUPERVOOC™ fast charging.
ColorOS 16 Intelligence Suite
The devices run on ColorOS 16, which centralizes multiple large language models (LLMs) via AI Mind Pilot. This feature brings Google Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT onto a single screen for side-by-side verification and research.
