After teasers, OnePlus has confirmed the launch of the Nord Buds 4, the latest expansion of its Nord audio product line on June 25th. The new earbuds are positioned for students and young professionals, with a design intended to support active daily routines ranging from commuting and academics to professional tasks, gaming, and travel.
The earbuds will be available in two color options: Stellar Black and Astral Teal.
Audio Performance and Noise Cancellation
A primary feature of the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 is the integration of an advanced active noise cancellation (ANC) system. The company states that the earbuds provide up to 52 dB of real-time noise cancellation with ultra-wide 5000 Hz range, allowing users to adjust between levels of sound isolation and environmental awareness depending on their surroundings.
Internally, each earbud is equipped with a 12 mm titanium-coated dynamic driver. OnePlus intends for this hardware to produce enhanced bass and consistent sound quality. Additionally, the design focuses on portability and comfort, with each earbud weighing 4.3 grams.
The Nord Buds 4 also incorporate features previously exclusive to the Nord Buds 4 Pro series, including:
- 3D Spatial Audio: Designed to create a more immersive soundscape for general media consumption.
- Game Sound Spatial Audio: Intended to assist users in identifying specific in-game audio cues, such as movement, during fast-paced gaming sessions.
Battery Life and Charging
To support extended use, the earbuds offer up to 54 hours of total playback time when accounting for the charging case. The hardware also supports rapid charging, with the company claiming that a 10-minute charge can provide up to 11 hours of playback.
The battery components have been awarded the TÜV Rheinland Battery Health Certification, a standard intended to verify the long-term reliability and durability of the device’s power cells.
