HMD Vibe2 5G sells out within first hour, says the company

HMD has announced that its newly launched HMD Vibe2 5G officially sold out on Flipkart within the first hour of going on sale yesterday, May 26th. The company stated that the initial response indicates strong consumer interest in the device, which is positioned as India’s first smartphone in the sub-Rs. 10,000 segment to feature Indus by Sarvam AI.

Launched at a special introductory price of ₹9,499, the HMD Vibe2 5G drew traction from buyers across both metropolitan and non-metropolitan regions.

Marketing for the device has primarily focused on its localized AI capabilities, design, and value-oriented feature set targeted at budget-conscious consumers.

Strategic Partnerships

HMD attributed the initial market performance to its strategy of delivering India-focused innovations. The development and distribution of the Vibe2 5G involved key collaborations with regional entities:

  • Sarvam AI: Integrated the “Indus” artificial intelligence platform to provide localized AI experiences.
  • Sanchar Saathi: Aligned with government-backed digital safety and mobile security frameworks.
  • Flipkart: Served as the exclusive e-commerce launch partner for the initial sale.

In a statement following the sell-out, HMD expressed appreciation for the consumer response and indicated that details regarding the next stock availability and sale date on Flipkart will be announced shortly.
