OnePlus Ace6 Ultra to be introduced on April 28

After teasers, OnePlus has confirmed the launch of the Ace6 Ultra, the company’s next smartphone in the Ace6 series, in China on April 28th.

OnePlus has also teased a gaming controller for the phone. The company said that this is an industry-first, brand-new form factor specifically designed for shooting mobile games. The grip, field of view, control dimensions, button feedback, and response speed have all been comprehensively upgraded, it added.

Regarding the controller, OnePlus China head Louis Jie, said:

Controlling the camera, aiming, firing, positioning, and executing combos all simultaneously—with so many fingers, the controls became chaotic. The most interesting thing about this new control scheme is that it makes these previously difficult actions smoother! From two fingers to six or even eight fingers, sometimes that’s all it takes to go from a beginner to a pro.

A more comfortable handheld form factor, a cleaner field of view, four physical buttons bringing a new dimension of operational upgrade, coupled with faster and more direct micro-motion feedback, make the shooting experience on mobile phones a completely different control method. This is a new piece of equipment carefully prepared for players who love shooting games.

Earlier this week, the company posted images of the Ace Awakening colour variant that uses a 3D stereoscopic engraving process that brings an exclusive Ace Awakening texture; as light sweeps across it, a purple flame appears at your fingertips.

The Metal Cube Deco, with its flat metal array, precisely avoids the point of contact with your fingertips. Furthermore, the heat-insulating metal frame, paired with extra-large rounded corners, not only blocks heat but also fits more snugly in the palm. It will also come in Metal Storm color variant. It will come in 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB versions.

According to OnePlus China head Louis Jie, the phone will feature a 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate BOE screen, touted as meeting desktop e-sports display standards. Based on earlier reports, the Ace6 Ultra will feature a 6.78″ 1.5K+ 165Hz BOE screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, about 8500mAh battery and 100W fast charging support.
