OnePlus just launched the Nord 6, the company’s latest Nord smartphone in India, as it had promised. Positioned toward mobile gamers and power users, the device centers around a high-refresh-rate display, a high-capacity battery, and a suite of AI-driven software tools.
Performance and Gaming
The OnePlus Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform. A primary focus of the device is its gaming capability, with OnePlus highlighting support for 165 frames per second (FPS) gameplay on popular mobile titles such as BGMI, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Free Fire MAX.
To support competitive gaming, OnePlus has integrated a suite of hardware it calls “Edge Tech.” This includes:
- A 3200Hz touch sampling rate for faster input registration.
- An ultra-precise 6-axis gyroscope calibrated for high-sensitivity aiming (±4000°/s).
- A custom Touch Reflex Chip and Spatial Audio Booster for enhanced audio-visual feedback.
According to manufacturer-provided metrics, the Nord 6 achieved an AnTuTu benchmark score of 2,503,854, which the company notes is significantly higher than competing devices in similar test conditions.

The front of the device features a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED “Sunburst HDR” display, utilizing the same panel technology found in the flagship OnePlus 15.
- Brightness: 1800 nits High Brightness Mode (HBM) for outdoor visibility and up to 3600 nits peak brightness for HDR content.
- Eye Comfort: 3840 Hz PWM dimming and a minimum brightness of 2 nits for low-light environments.
- Usability: Aqua Touch 2.0 technology, designed to maintain touch accuracy when the screen or the user’s fingers are wet.
Connectivity is handled by an exclusive G2 Wi-Fi chip aimed at maintaining signal stability in congested areas, alongside 5G-Advanced support for faster peak data speeds on networks like Reliance Jio.

A standout feature of the Nord 6 is its 9000mAh silicon-carbon (SiCarbon) battery, which utilizes up to 15% silicon content to maximize density without substantially increasing the phone’s thickness. OnePlus states the battery can support over 2.5 days of moderate use, or approximately 11.1 hours of continuous BGMI gaming.
- Charging: The device supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, capable of a full charge in roughly 70 minutes.
- Reverse Charging: It features 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to function as a power bank for other devices.
- Bypass Charging: This feature routes power directly to the motherboard during intensive tasks (like gaming or 4K recording) to manage heat and maintain performance stability.
Cameras and AI Capabilities
The camera system is headlined by a 50MP Sony main sensor with Dual-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and multi-focusing sensors for improved low-light photography. The front-facing camera utilizes a 32MP sensor. The system supports 4K video recording at 60 FPS.
The Nord 6 places a heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence, integrating both creative editing tools and productivity features:
- Photo Editing: Includes AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Perfect Shot, AI Reflection Remover, and AI Reframe. A “4K Motion Photo Clipper” allows users to extract high-resolution stills from 3-second video clips.
- AI Mind Space & Google Gemini: The phone introduces “AI Mind Space,” a unified knowledge base activated via a dedicated Plus Key or screen gesture. Through deep integration with Google Gemini, the AI can access this user-saved data to provide highly personalized suggestions, such as custom travel itineraries.
- Productivity: Real-time AI translation for calls, an AI Writer, and an AI Scanner are built into the operating system.

The Nord 6 is constructed with what OnePlus describes as a minimalist design with sharp edges. It features Crystal Guard Glass on the front, positioned as a competitor to Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The device has undergone rigorous durability testing, carrying IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, making it resistant to dust, full submersion, and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. It also meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards for drops and environmental stress.
Out of the box, the phone runs on OxygenOS 16. OnePlus has committed to providing 4 major Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches. It will be available in three colors: Quick Silver, Fresh Mint, and Pitch Black.
