Headphone Zone has launched the Headphone Zone X Juzear Defiant. Developed as a co-branded in-ear monitor (IEM), the company states that its internal product specialists have endorsed the Defiant as the premier in their catalogue priced under Rs. 10,000.
The new IEM is positioned as a competitor to popular models in the sub-10K segment, such as the Truthear Hexa and the Simgot Supermix 4.
Acoustic Architecture and Internals
The Defiant utilizes a hybrid driver configuration consisting of four drivers per side:
- One 10mm Dynamic Driver: Featuring a carbon-PU diaphragm, neodymium magnet, and a large voice coil, this driver is dedicated to low-frequency reproduction.
- Three Balanced Armatures: A custom composite balanced armature handles the midrange frequencies, while a dedicated high-frequency balanced armature is utilized for treble extension.
To manage frequency distribution, the IEM incorporates a gold-plated PCB crossover circuit built with high-tolerance components. According to Headphone Zone, the sound signature was refined over six iterations to produce a profile that is warm, detailed, and balanced without being overly colored.
Build Quality and Design
The earpieces are constructed using medical-grade resin formed via high-precision DLP 3D printing, designed to match the natural contours of the human ear. The exterior features CNC-milled faceplates detailed with nickel metal accents.
Internally, the Defiant utilizes a triple-path, fully damped acoustic duct system aimed at reducing distortion and improving imaging. Additionally, the shells incorporate a micro-perforation pressure balance system to mitigate pressure buildup during extended listening sessions.

Variants, Pricing and availability
The Headphone Zone X Juzear Defiant is available in two distinct configurations to cater to different user setups:
- Audiophile Edition (Rs. 8,999): Designed for use with dedicated digital audio players (DAPs) or external DAC/Amps, this variant includes interchangeable 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced terminations.
- Everyday Edition (Rs. 9,999): Targeted at smartphone users, this version features an inline microphone and a USB Type-C termination with a built-in DAC for direct device connectivity. This also comes with 3.5mm Interchangeable plug in the box.
Both editions come bundled with the FLARE hybrid cable, which consists of 280 strands of 6N single crystal copper and silver-plated copper. The package also includes a premium leatherette carrying case and a selection of eartips.
