At MWC 2026, HONOR introduced a conceptual leap in mobile technology with the “HONOR Robot Phone.” Described as a new species of smartphone, the device integrates embodied AI interaction with robot-grade motion control and advanced cinematic imaging capabilities.
Moving beyond static screens and voice commands, the Robot Phone incorporates physical, expressive movements to interact with its environment, effectively giving the device “hands and feet” alongside a multimodal AI brain.
By integrating hardware capable of identifying sounds, tracking motion, and maintaining visual awareness, the device establishes a more natural and sensory interaction model.

Embodied AI Interaction
The Robot Phone’s embodied AI is designed to make device interactions feel more lifelike and intuitive. Key interactive features include:
- All-Angle AI Video Calling: The camera physically follows the user through robot-grade motion control, maintaining framing as the subject moves.
- Emotional Body Language: The physical camera module responds to user inputs with expressive gestures, such as nods and head shakes.
- Dance to the Beat: The device’s hardware can physically move and react in rhythm to playing music.
Engineering and Hardware Miniaturization
Packing robotic components into a standard smartphone form factor required significant rethinking of space, strength, and weight. Drawing on reliability know-how developed for foldable devices, HONOR achieved several engineering milestones:
- High-Performance Materials: The chassis utilizes 2800Mpa high-performance materials engineered with 0.001mm simulation accuracy for extreme durability and precision.
- Micro Motor Miniaturization: HONOR developed a custom micro motor that is 70% smaller than the industry’s mainstream options.
- 4DoF Gimbal System: This reduction in motor size allowed HONOR to integrate the industry’s smallest 4DoF gimbal system directly into the phone, creating the hardware foundation for its embodied motion control.
Cinematic Imaging Capabilities
Built to close the gap between everyday smartphone video and professional storytelling, the Robot Phone features the industry’s first 3-axis gimbal camera paired with a 200MP sensor. The mechanical architecture supports smooth, precise motion and unlocks new forms of capture:
- Super Steady Video: Delivers rock-steady framing and enhanced stabilization in dynamic, high-movement scenarios.
- AI Object Tracking: Allows the hardware to intelligently follow moving subjects in real time.
- AI SpinShot: Expands creative control by supporting intelligent 90° and 180° rotational movements, enabling fluid, cinematic transitions even when operating the device one-handed.
- AI-Powered Tools: The imaging experience is rounded out by “Agentic shooting” capabilities and a built-in AI video editor.
Strategic technical collaboration with ARRI

HONOR has entered into a strategic technical collaboration with ARRI, the world-renowned designer and manufacturer of professional camera technology for cinematic storytelling. The first results of this collaboration will debut in the HONOR ROBOT PHONE later this year, said the company.
