Amazon India announced today that 2025 marked its fastest year for delivery speeds to date, driven by significant investments in its operations network. The company reported delivering over 55 crore products on the same or next day, representing a 40% year-on-year increase in delivery efficiency for its Prime member base.
Logistics and Infrastructure Investment
To support this acceleration in service, Amazon India invested over INR 2,000 crore in 2025. According to the company, these funds were directed toward expanding and upgrading operations infrastructure, developing new technology for the logistics network, and improving associate safety and well-being.
The company stated that these investments are part of a broader commitment to building a safer and more reliable operations network across the country.
Delivery Performance and Amazon Now
The company released specific metrics regarding its delivery capabilities for Prime members:
- Speed: Same-day delivery is available on 10 lakh products, next-day delivery on 40 lakh products, and 4-hour delivery on over 20,000 top-selling items.
- Ultra-Fast Delivery: The “Amazon Now” service, which operates in parts of Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai, offers delivery within minutes.
- Engagement: Data indicates that Prime members engaging with Amazon Now triple their shopping frequency after adopting the service.
Membership Growth and Demographics
Amazon reported that over 70% of new Prime member signups in 2025 originated from non-metro cities, indicating widening adoption outside of Tier-1 urban centers. In terms of engagement, Prime members reportedly shop five times more frequently than non-Prime customers.
Regarding customer value, Amazon stated that the average Prime member in India saved more than twice the cost of the annual membership fee in 2025. The top 10% of users saved more than eight times the membership cost through free shipping, exclusive deals, and cashbacks.
Amazon currently offers three distinct tiers of Prime membership in India, starting at Rs. 399/year.
