Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 update brings bug fixes, July 2025 patch


Google has released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 update, after the roll-out of the QPR1 Beta 2.1 update last month. This brings July 2025 Android security patch, and bug fixes.

The Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 brings magnify keyboard feature, adds shortcuts to quickly pin or unpin apps from the taskbar, and also gets new features from the July 2025 Android Canary release such as new screen saver features, enhanced HDR brightness option, and more.

Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 also resolves the top issues that are described in the following list.

  • An issue around RTOS task list corruption that was causing restarts.
  • Launcher not completely displaying
  • Notification display issues
  • The media player in the notification pulldown fails to fully display and function.
  • Full phone restart due to class loader issues
  • Kernel issue causing restarts
  • Camera non-functional at startup with black screen
  • Status bar icons missing corner padding
  • Notification shade message folding breaks
Availability

Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 is available for Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 and 9 series, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel a-series devices. Devices enrolled in the Android 16 Beta program will automatically get the update over the air.
