Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 update brings bug fixes, June 2025 patch

Google has released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 update, after the roll out of the QPR1 Beta 2 update earlier this month. This brings June 2025 Android security patch, so those who had already updated to Android 16 update, can now move to beta channel with easy over-the-air (OTA) update.

This minor update to Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 includes the following fixes:

  • The “Approve” button in the Device Admin settings is transparent and invisible
  • The lockscreen sound toggle shows as off, but sounds still play
  • The Android back button intermittently fails to function
  • Fix for a launcher crash when swiping up from the bottom

Some users have also reported constant crashing on QPR1 Beta 2/2.1 when Identity Check is enabled, so it is recommended to disable it. Some have also reported audio issues when using LDAC codec in their Bluetooth headset, which still exists.

Availability

Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 is available for Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 and 9 series, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel a-series devices. Devices enrolled in the Android 16 Beta program will automatically get the update over the air.
