In response to recent speculation and misinformation circulating on social media and various media platforms regarding its status in India, HONOR has officially reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to the Indian market.
The confusion arose following unverified reports and social media activity suggesting a withdrawal of HONOR’s operations in India. These claims, however, have been categorically refuted by CP Khandelwal, Brand Custodian, India Business (HONOR) who took to X (formerly Twitter) to address and dispel the rumors.
The speculation emerged amidst a challenging period for some foreign technology companies in India, coupled with reports concerning HTech, the Indian licensee for HONOR, which have included mentions of operational adjustments and import challenges. These factors likely contributed to the unconfirmed reports circulating online.
Khandelwal’s statement on X aimed to provide clarity and reassure customers, partners, and stakeholders about HONOR’s long-term intentions for the Indian market. His communication emphasized that the brand remains committed to its presence and future plans in the country, countering the narrative of an impending exit.
While the specifics of the recent operational challenges faced by the Indian licensee have been a subject of media coverage, HONOR’s official stance, as conveyed by Mr. Khandelwal, underscores a commitment to navigating these complexities and maintaining its business in India.
The company was supposed to launch HONOR X9c smartphone in India, it even teased the phone earlier this year, but the launch didn’t happen. Now the company has also announced plans to launch four new smartphones in India soon, and the launch dates will be announced soon.
In his official statement, Khandelwal said,
Let’s set the record straight — ‘HONOR India is here — and thriving.’ We’re all geared up to launch four new smartphones soon.
