Xiaomi 15 with 6.36″ 1.5K 120Hz LTPO OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite, Triple 50MP cameras, IP68 ratings announced


Xiaomi just introduced the Xiaomi 15, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, at an event in China, as it had promised. The phone features a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED flat M9 LTPO panel with peak brightness of 3200 nits, 1-120Hz refresh rate, and 1.38mm ultra-narrow uniform bezels.

It has a flat one-piece aviation grade aluminum frame with rounded corners, sharp edges and has a 71.2mm ultra-narrow body for easy one-hand usage.

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and has wing-shaped cold pump cooling system Vapor-liquid separation design, one-way circulation structure, promising 3 times the performance of traditional VC.

The phone has triple rear cameras with a 50MP 1/1.31″ 1.2μm large sensor, f/1.62 aperture, 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP 2.6X telephoto camera, all with Leica Summilux lens and uses Xiaomi AISP 2.0 computational photography platform. It finally gets an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

It has a 5400mAh battery, an increase of 790mAh compared to the previous generation, but the battery volume has hardly changed. The phone has 90W wired charging, and supports for 50W wireless and magnetic wireless charging.

The silver colour uses 3D hot-bent glass to create a real wave feel when touched. There are 2 high-gloss middle frames, available in bright silver and bright black, and 20 customized colors, including highly saturated colors with great tension and personality, said the company.

There is also a Xiaomi 15 Diamond Limited Edition in 3 fashionable colors, glacier white, elephant gray and orange with diamond inlaid middle frame, shining, crocodile skin texture Kona leather back panel, and exquisite texture.

The Xiaomi 15 comes in Black, White, Asakusa Green, Lilac and Bright Silver colours and is priced at 4499 yuan (US$ 630 / Rs. 52,985 approx.) for 12GB + 256GB, 4799 yuan (USD 672  / Rs. 56,515 approx.) for 12GB + 512GB, 4999 yuan (USD 700 / Rs. 58,870 approx.) for 16GB + 512GB and 5499 yuan (USD 770 / Rs. 64,760 approx.) for the 16GB + 1TB model. The Xiaomi 15 Diamond Limited Edition 16GB + 1TB model costs, 5999 yuan (USD 840 / Rs. 70,635 approx.).

The phone is now available to order in China and will go on sale from October 31st.
