In compliance with section 69A of the country’s IT law, India banned Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile INdia (BGMI) game back in July 2022. There were rumours that the game will be back in January 2023, but it didn’t happen.
Today, Sean Hyunil Sohn, KRAFTON India CEO confirmed that the game will be available for download soon, after getting approval from the Indian authorities.
The game achieved 100 million cumulative users milestone shortly after a year of its launch. It also became the first Esports event to be broadcasted on mainstream television, attracting 24 million concurrent viewers and a total of 200 million viewers, according to the company.
