Reliance Jio adds new JioFi plans with free router and 50GB of data


Reliance Jio has introduced three new postpaid recharge plans for JioFi users. The plans cost Rs 249, Rs 299, and Rs 349, respectively, and include up to 50GB of data per month. Jio also offers free JioFi router on use and return basis. These three postpaid plans are currently only available to businesses.

The new JioFi plans include a Rs. 249 plan that offers 30GB of data for the entire month; a Rs. 299 plan that offers 40GB of data and the Rs. 349 plan offers 50GB of data. Please keep in mind that none of the three plans include voice or SMS benefits, and post a 100% monthly data benefit, users will continue to receive data service at speeds up to 64 Kbps. We have tested a few routers such as a the JioF3 and JioFi3and JioFi6.

New Jiofi Plans

JioFi ₹249 plan

The cheapest plan which is the JioFi ₹249 plan offers 30GB of data per month. There are no voice or SMS benefits and the plan can only be used in a JioFi router. There is a lock-in period or contract of 18months to avail the benefits of the plan.

JioFi ₹299 plan

The next plan which is the JioFi ₹299 plan offers 40GB of data per month which gives you another 10GB at just Rs.50 extra. There are no voice or SMS benefits and the plan can only be used in a JioFi router. There is also a lock-in period or contract of 18months to avail the benefits of the plan.

JioFi ₹349 plan

The most expensive plan is the JioFi ₹349 plan which offers 50 GB of data per month. Unfortunately even in this top plan, there are no voice or SMS benefits despite the 18 month lock-in period

The catch is that, in addition to providing a free Jio routers, the JioFi postpaid plans have a lock-in period. This means that the user will be billed for that time period each month while opting for any of the three plans. Additionally, the plans are eligible only for users who have a minimum first order quantity of Rs. 200. You can check out more details on Jio website and apply for the plans.

There was lot of confusion if the company is still supporting the JioFi portable routers as it is not easy to buy a device through official channels. If you are already using an old JioFi router, you can buy a replacement battery from the company website. Some of the previous models were Router M2 , M2S, JMR-540,JMR-541,JMR-1140,JMR-520,JMR-815 and JMR-1040

For these new plans, the company is making it available only on postpaid basis. If you are someone who needs a lot of mobile data and don’t have access to reliable WiFi, these plans are worth considering.
