Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


Samsung today launched the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, the latest smartphone in India S21 series in India. It has a slightly smaller 6.4″ screen, is powered by Exynos 2100 SoC and retains the same camera setup and the battery, but has an updated design that matches the S21 series. Here we have the unboxing and first impressions of the phone.

The phone packs a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate, which is slightly smaller than the predecessor. Since it has up to 1200 nits brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors and when watching HDR content. The phone has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The phone has a tiny punch-hole that houses a 32MP camera with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. You can also see a small earpiece grill on the top edge, which also doubles up as a secondary speaker.

It has minimal bezels on the bottom. The phone comes with an optical fingerprint scanner, unlike the ultrasonic scanner in the other phones in the S21 series. It is powered by the latest Exynos 2100 5nm SoC with built-in 5G.

The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side. There is nothing on the left side except for the antenna bands since it has a metal frame. On the bottom there is a loudspeaker grill, USB Type-C port along with a dual SIM tray. The phone comes with 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage options, but it doesn’t have an expansion slot.

It has  triple rear cameras that include a 12MP main camera with OIS, 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 8MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom and up to 30x Space Zoom. It supports 4K 60fps video recording with both front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.

The phone has a plastic back with an iconic contour cut camera housing. Even with the plastic back, the build quality is good. Since it has a matte finish, so it doesn’t attract fingerprints. It also has IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance. It packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and also supports reverse wireless charging.

In addition to Graphite, the phone also comes in White, Lavender and Olive colors. Priced at Rs. 54999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version and Rs. 58999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version, the phone will be available from Amazon.in, Samsung.com, leading online portals and select retail stores from tomorrow, January 11th 2022.
