Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


Samsung recently launched the Galaxy M52 5G as the successor of the Galaxy M51 in India. The phone has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, is powered by the latest Snapdragon 778G SoC and 64MP main camera. We got to check out the smartphone, here are our first impressions.

The M52 5G has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate compared to 60Hz screen in the M51. The screen bright even in outdoors. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 778G SoC with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4x of RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It has support for 11 5G (N1, N3, N5, N7, N8, N20, N28, N66, N40, N41 and N78) bands. The phone runs Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top. Samsung has promised 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates for the phone. It also has Samsung Pay with NFC, Knox security and Secure Folder.

Inside the tiny punch-hole there is a 32-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. It has the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors. The earpiece grill is on the top edge. There is a small chin below the screen.

Coming to the button placements, the power button that includes the fingerprint sensor and the volume rockers are present on the right side. . The hybrid dual SIM slot is present on the left side. The secondary microphone are on the top. The primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are on the bottom. The phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack, which was present in the M51 and is present in most mid-range Samsung phones. Since the sides have a plastic frame with a glossy finish, they attract fingerprints easily. Even though it lacks stereo speakers, it comes with Dolby Atmos.

The phone has a triple camera arrangement that includes a 64-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel macro camera. Both the front and rear cameras support up to 4K 30 fps recording. Check out some camera samples below.

The phone has a plastic back with a glossy finish, so it attracts finigerprints easily. The phone weighs 173 grams, and is just 7.4mm thick even though it packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, but it only comes with 15W charger in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is priced at Rs. 29999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 31,999.
