vivo today announced the vivo X70 series of smartphones at an event in China, as it had promised. The X70 and X70 Pro feature a 6.56-inch FHD+ panel with 120Hz AMOLED screen and the Pro+ version has a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz Samsung E5 LTPO AMOLED screen. The Pro+ is powered by Snapdragon 888+ and the other models are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 or Samsung Exynos 1080, depending on the version.
The entire X70 series feature Zeiss T* coating and a 32MP selfie camera. The X70 and the X70 Pro have a 40MP and 50MP gimbal cameras, respectively, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. All the models feature a 12MP 50mm portrait camera. The X70 Pro also has an 8MP periscope telephoto (5x optical zoom). The X70 Pro+ has a 50MP ISOCELL GN1, sensor with gimbal OIS, 48MP ultra wide-angle and 50mm portrait camera and a 8MP 5x telephoto camera.
These have a low-dispersion, high-transmittance glass lenses in the main camera. The ultra-wide-angle camera in Pro+ feature a gimbal, the other three cameras also have OIS. The X70 Pro+ boasts the new Imaging Chip V1 and High-Transmittance Glass Lens. The new imaging chip, self-designed by vivo, employs an AI system to apply NR (noise reduction) and MEMC (motion estimation, motion compensation) effects across the board. The upgraded singular glass lenses ensure extra-low dispersion for improved image quality. In addition to the Biotar Portrait Style’s legendary swirly bokeh, vivo has used ZEISS Style Portrait features – inspired by the iconic, classic lenses Distagon, Planar and Sonnar – for X70 series users to shoot with.

The vivo X70 and X70 Pro Come in Black, White, and Purple gradient colours with AG glass back. The X70 is priced at 3,699 yuan (US$ 570 / Rs. 42,160 approx.) for 8GB + 128GB, 3,999 yuan (US$ 619 / Rs. 45,560 approx.) for 8GB + 256GB, 4,299 yuan (US$ 665 / Rs. 49,000 approx.) for 12GB + 256GB.
The X70 Pro is priced at 4,299 yuan (US$ 665 / Rs. 49,000 approx.) for 8GB + 128GB, 4,599 yuan (US$ 712 / Rs. 52,400 approx.) for 8GB + 256GB, 4,799 yuan (US$ 743 / Rs. 54,695 approx.) for 12GB + 256GB and 5,299 yuan (US$ 820 / Rs. 60,390 approx.) for 12GB + 512GB version.
The vivo X70 Pro+ comes in Black colour with AG glass, and the Orange and Blue version have a leather finish. It is priced at 5,499 yuan (US$ 851 / Rs. 62,670 approx.) for 8GB + 256GB, 5,999 yuan (US$ 929 / Rs. 68,370 approx.) for 12GB + 256GB and 6,999 yuan (US$ 1084 / Rs. 79,770approx.) for 12GB + 512GB version.
These are now available to order in China. The Vivo X70 Pro and vivo X70 Pro+ will go on sale from September 17th, and X70 will be available from September 30th. The Vivo X70 series will be launched in Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and India soon. The global launch is set for September 13th, and it is rumoured to launch in India on September 30th.
