Vivo X60 Pro Unboxing and First Impressions


Vivo today launched the X60 series of smartphones in India. Here we have the X60 Pro, which is the successor to the popular X50 Pro that was launched last year. This brings in upgrades in almost all the segments that includes a 120Hz curved AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 870, 48MP triple rear cameras with gimbal stabilization 2.0 and lots more.

The Vivo X60 Pro packs a 6.56-inch Full HD+ E3 Super AMOLED display with 3D curved corners, 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rating and and has minimal bezels. It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 32-megapixel camera. Overall the display looks brilliant. It is one of the first smartphones to be powered by Snapdragon 870 5G Mobile Platform in India.

It comes in single 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage version. This is a major upgrade from the Snapdragon 765G and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM in the predecessor. It runs Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11.1 out of the box, and the performance is smooth.

The phone has a power buttons and volume rockers on the right side, and there is nothing on the left, except for the antenna cutout since it has a metal frame. The secondary microphone is present on the top. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom.

Coming to the camera, the phone features a quad rear cameras that includes a 48MP main camera with LED flash, f/1.48 aperture, Sony IMX598 sensor, gimbal stabilization along with OIS and EIS, 13MP 120° ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and 2.5cm macro and there is a 13MP 50mm portrait camera. Camera features include HDR Super Night portrait, Ultra-wide night mode, Pixel shift ultra HD imaging Extreme night vision 2.0, Pro sports mode and more. Check out some camera samples.

It has a two-tone gradient glass back with satin AG technology that offers matte finish, so it is nice to look and feels good to hold and doesn’t attract fingerprints. The vivo X60 Pro is 7.59mm thick, making it the company’s thinnest phone with a 3D curved screen. The phone packs a 4200mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The battery capacity is slightly less than the predecessor, so with 120Hz refresh rate enabled, it might not last long.

Priced at Rs. 49,990, the phone is already available for pre-order from Amazon.inFlipkart and other online offline stores and will go on sale from April 2nd. There are also several launch offers.
