Sony Research India launched with R&D centers in Bengaluru and Mumbai


In the latest development, Sony has announced that it will establish a research company “Sony Research India Private Limited (Sony Research India)” effective July 1st, 2020. As per the company, the research company consists of R&D Center India Bengaluru Laboratory and Mumbai Laboratory as part of Sony’s Global R&D centres. This was announced back in November last year.

With this move, the company aims to tap into the country’s sizeable pool of talent. It’s worth mentioning that, Sony has been carrying out software development with local talent for over twenty years in the country.

The Japanese tech giant aims to accelerate the collaboration with its entertainment and electronics business groups, while further enhancing competitiveness and capability of research and development in India. Moreover, Sony Research India will create job opportunities in the area of applied AI and data analytics.

“Our research is to explore and contribute to the well-being of the society and the Sustainable Development Goals by, for example, implementing them in the creative entertainment community and medical/life science industry,” said the company.
