Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32-inch and 43-inch (2018) Android TV Pie update finally starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched Mi TV 4A 32-inch HD ready and 43-inch Full HD models last year running Patchwall based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). These TVs didn’t get any updates, even months after the company released new Android TV models running Android Oreo-based Patchwall. The company back in July started early access program to offer Android 9.0 (Pie) Android TV update directly to these users, skipping Android Oreo, now it has started rolling out the Android TV Pie update for these TVs. This comes after the update for Mi TV 4A Pro and Mi TV 4C Pro got the update recently.

The update also brings Chromecast built-in, Data Saver that helps reduce the mobile data usage and increases the watch time by up to 3x, monitor their data usage while watching TV, YouTube, Play Store, Play Movies and more, but Google Assistant won’t work directly on the Mi TV 4A series TVs as these don’t support BLE and hence no voice remote support directly, but you can use your Android phones or Google Home devices to play movies etc over Chromecast protocol.
