Redmi Note 8 series sold out in under a minute in second sale in India, next sale on Oct 25


Xiaomi under its Redmi brand launched its Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in India last week starting at Rs. 9999 and Rs. 14999, respectively. These phones went on sale for the first time yesterday, October 21st, and were sold out in minutes. Xiaomi said that 1.5 million or 15 lakh people had shown interest to buy the phone, but it did not reveal the number of units sold.

Today it sold the phone again on Amazon.in and mi.com, and said that it sold them out seconds. Amazon said that these phones sold out in a minute. Next sale is scheduled for Friday, October 25th across these platforms. Xiaomi also sells these phones through its own Mi Home Stores, and it might take time for the company to sell them through other offline stores.

To remind you, the Redmi Note 8 packs a 6.39-inch Full HD+ LCD screen, is powered by Snapdragon 665 11nm Mobile Platform with up to 6GB RAM, features a 48-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for 2cm macro shots. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front. It has dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, splash-resistant P2i coating and packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging with fast charger in the box.

The Note 8 Pro packs a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with HDR support,  MediaTek Helio G90T SoC with liquid cooling, up to 8GB RAM, 64-megapixel primary rear camera, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor for 2cm macro shots. There is a 20-megapixel camera on the front. It has3D glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection and has a splash resistant body with IP52 ratings, dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots and packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
