Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL detailed specs, more renders, Dual Exposure Camera Controls, new Google Assistant surface

Google is all set to unveil the Pixel 4 Series at an event in New York on 15th October and a plethora of leaks, rumours, and renders have been surfacing including a leaked video revealing the Pixel 4 XL in full glory. Today, more details about the Pixel 4 Series have leaked including detailed specifications, new renders, new additions to the camera, and more.

The leaked screenshots from 9to5Google reveal the complete spec sheet of Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL and it is almost on par with the leaked specifications earlier. According to the spec sheet, Google Pixel 4 will sport a 5.7-inch FULL HD+ OLED Smooth Display with 90Hz refresh rate along with Ambient EQ feature and the Pixel 4 XL will sport a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ display OLED Smooth Display with 90Hz refresh rate along with Ambient EQ feature. Both will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and will feature ‘Pixel Neural Core’, suggesting that the chip will use neural network techniques for image processing. It will be paired with 6GB RAM with up to 128GB storage.

Regarding the optics, both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will sport dual rear cameras with a combination of 12MP Dual-Pixel camera + 16MP telephoto camera. However, there is no information on the front-facing camera yet, but we can expect a single front camera instead of the dual front camera that we saw on the Pixel 3. Apart from this, it will come with a USB Type-C port, dedicated Titan M security module, Motion Sense, Face Unlock, Stereo speakers, and Android 10 with 3 years of security and OS updates. The Pixel 4 will pack a 2800mAh battery while the Pixel 4 XL will pack a 3700mAh battery.

Furthermore, both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will offer ‘Dual Exposure Camera Controls’  which essentially will allow users to separately manipulate the highlights and shadows in the image, also letting users take pictures in bright sunlight. The leaked promotional video shows the Dual Exposure Camera Controls in action.

Apart from this, another leaked video shows a ‘new Google Assistant’ running on the Pixel 4 and in fact, Google demonstrated the “next generation Assistant” at I/O 2019 and told that it will be launched on next generation Pixel phones. The new Assistant is powered by Google shrinking voice recognition and since Android 10 gesture navigation doesn’t support the new Assistant yet, Google has added a shortcut to launch complete Assistant Updates feed at the left, and the other for opening the keyboard in the right corner. With the new Assistant, when a user invokes it by saying “Hey Google” or squeeze with Active Edge, a coloured light bar fills in from the sides of the screen and move up and bleed up onto the screen as the user talks. The UI of the new Assistant also looks compact now, without compromising on the functionality.

Here’s a leaked video showing the ‘new Google Assistant’ in action.

We should know more information once Google officially unveils the Pixel 4 Series on October 15th 2019.
