Google Pixel 4 XL with 90Hz display surfaces in hands on videos revealing camera, ‘Motion Sense’ details, could be announced on Oct 15


Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL has been in a lot of leaks and rumours all these days. The smartphones are expected to be unveiled by Google next month but now, high-quality hands-on videos of purported Pixel 4 XL have surfaced, showing off the smartphone and revealing key specifications.

A hands-on video of the purported Google Pixel 4 XL posted by AnhEm TV, shows off the smartphone in full glory. If the video turns out to be legit, then the Google Pixel 4 XL will a display with no notch and will come with 90Hz refresh rate. The settings app has a new “Smooth Display” setting that “dynamically adjusts the refresh rate between 60 and 90Hz” and this confirms the 90Hz refresh rate display on the Pixel 4 XL. There is also a “screen attention” and “Ambient EQ” feature.

Furthermore, the video is also shown running CPU-Z app, revealing the details of the processor, RAM, display resolution and more. According to the listing, Pixel 4 XL will sport a 6.23-inch 3040 x 1440 display, will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. It will sport dual rear camera setup with a combination of 12.2MP (primary) Sony IMX363 + 16MP Sony IMX481 (telephoto), and the front camera will be a 20MP Sony IMX520 unit.

Google already confirmed will feature Face unlock with IR sensors, Motion Sense powered by Project Soli and now, it is expected to feature OVM7251 IR sensor for Face Unlock. Another hands-on video, on the other hand, shows the Pixel  4 XL in three colors – white, black, and orange Coral hue.

Another Pixel 4 leak shows details about hands-free gestures using radar-based Soli technology. You can skip songs by waving to the right in front of the phone by moving your hand to the left, silence the phone when an alarm goes off or when someone calls you by using dismissive gesture in front of the screen. You can hover over it with your hand to activate the display to see the lock screen, notifications, and time when the phone lays flat on a table. The phone can recognize when you’re near it and turns on Ambient Screen accordingly.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on October 15th, 2019 as per a new report from Evan Blass. We should know more information in the coming days.
