Redmi K20 and K20 Pro get a price cut in China [Update: K20 8GB+256GB as well]


Update: August 27, 2019 – Redmi has announced price cut for the K20 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version as well in China, which now costs 2299 yuan (US$ 321 / Rs. 23,050 approx.) after 300 yuan price cut. This version has not been launched in India.

Earlier: Xiaomi’s Redmi brand introduced the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones in China back in May for at 2099 yuan (US$ 304 / Rs. 20,990 approx.) and 2599 yuan (US$ 377 / Rs. 25,990 approx.) for 6GB + 128GB versions, respectively. Today the company has announced price cuts for select version of the smartphones in China ahead of launch of the new White edition in the country tomorrow, August 1st.

To remind you, the Redmi K20 was launched in India for Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 23,999. The Redmi K20 Pro was launched for Rs. 27,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs Rs. 30,999, but the company has not launched the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version of the K20 Pro in the country.

Since it has only been a week since the phones went on sale in India, we can’t expect a price cut soon, but it might get a price cut sometime later this year.

Other Redmi smartphones such as Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A have received a price cut in China.
