OnePlus creates new Guinness World Record for most number of people unboxing simultaneously


On the launch day of the OnePlus 6T smartphone, OnePlus conducted a mega-unboxing event as a part of a celebration with hundreds of community members. With this event, the leading premium smartphone maker set a new ‘GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS’ title for the most people unboxing simultaneously.

On top of that, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, the global authority on record-breaking has confirmed the record on 1st November where 559 OnePlus community members came together and unboxed the device simultaneously.

It’s worth mentioning that, the attempt began on Thursday, November 1 at 8.30 p.m. and the participants were the first in India to get their hands on the OnePlus 6T within two days after the launch announcement in India. Lots of OnePlus community members gathered at Richardson and Cruddas in Mumbai to unbox their OnePlus 6T devices.

In addition to the community members, the event was attended by presenter, fitness model and actress, Bani J and Indian lyricist, rap artist and music producer, Brodha V.

Talking about the device, OnePlus 6T is the most expected premium smartphone of 2018. With that being said, the successor of OnePlus 6 comes with futuristic Screen Unlock under the 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display. To create a smooth experience, the OnePlus 6T comes packed with the Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM.

It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX519 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, OIS as well as EIS, 20-megapixel secondary camera with Sony IMX376K sensor and f/1.7 aperture ad a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 371 sensor. While a lot of issues being said on low-light images, OnePlus comes with Nightscape mode that can recognize night scenes and delivers brighter, more vivid images with more clarity and less noise.

It runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with OxygenOS 9.0 with support for Android’s full-screen gestures and support for Smart Boost technology that improves app start speeds to 5 to 20% by storing data from frequently used apps in the phone’s RAM. It has a glass back and comes in Mirror Black version that has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The company says that the glass not only increases durability but also creates a 3D effect that accentuates the signature OnePlus horizon line.

On top of that, the OnePlus 6T has a 3,700 mAh battery with OnePlus’ Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging. The OnePlus 6T is available in Midnight Black and Mirror Black in three variants – 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB at INR 37,999,  INR 41,999 and INR 45,999, respectively on Amazon.in, oneplus.in, Croma stores and all OnePlus exclusive offline stores.
