We are just a few hours away from witnessing the launch of 2018’s most expected premium flagship device, the OnePlus 6T in India. With that being said, OnePlus has already announced OnePlus 6T smartphone at an event in New York, as it had promised.
For those who won’t be able to make it to New Delhi launch, OnePlus will let you witness the event through the live streaming link IST 8 PM today. The launch of the OnePlus 6T will take place at the KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on October 30th.
Initially, OnePlus launched its OnePlus 6 in May, which in fact became OnePlus’ fastest selling smartphone in the history. As a part of the tradition, the company is launching a ‘T’ model, which is essentially an upgrade over the previous model in any given year.
One such feature that really caught the attention is the In-display fingerprint scanner called as ‘Screen Unlock’. The OnePlus 6T will sport a Screen Unlock feature will feature a new optical fingerprint module housing a small lens that can accurately register your fingerprint when pressed down on the cover glass. Moreover, the Screen Unlock will learn to recognise your fingerprint with higher accuracy through extended use.
In this process, the company has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack, which as per the company claims took up the space near the bottom of the phone. This is expected to be the strategy for shifting 6T owners towards wireless headphones, as its new Type-C Bullets will launch alongside.
The OnePlus 6T comes powered by a huge 3700mAh battery which is 10% bigger than OnePlus 6. In addition, the device also has OnePlus’ proprietary Dash Charging technology too. Moreover, there are some changes in dimension as well, where the OnePlus 6T is thicker by 0.45mm since the internal hardware had to be rearranged.
Apart from the above-mentioned features, the OnePlus 6T sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a smaller notch, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) out-of-the-box.

With that being said that, OnePlus has announced Pop-ups in 9 cities across 12 locations in the country on November 2, 2018. Notably, the pop-ups start a couple of days after the launch of 6T in India. The Pop-ups will be available from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm IST on 2 November in 13 locations across 9 cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
The idea behind setting up a pop-up event is to experience or even buy the new OnePlus 6T on November 2. Those who attend pop-ups will receive exclusive OnePlus goodies including OnePlus 6T phone covers and bumpers, OnePlus Sketchbook, OnePlus ‘Never Settle’ T-shirts and OnePlus tote bags.
In addition to that, the company has expanded its offline presence by tying up with Reliance Digital Store for customers to experience and purchase across cities in India. With this move, the customers will now have extensive offline options to experience the OnePlus products at conveniently located stores at the same price as online.
Additionally, customers will also benefit from promotion campaigns run by Reliance Digital stores. It’s worth mentioning here that OnePlus has its presence in 130 stores (110 Croma and 20 Reliance Digital Stores) across India. OnePlus will now be available for purchase offline include Lucknow, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Mohali and Coimbatore.
