The OnePlus 6T has been scheduled to arrive in a couple of weeks time, following up on the OnePlus 6, which was released in May. As the name suggests, the OnePlus 6T is an incremental update over one of the best smartphones of 2018, the OnePlus 6.

Water-drop notch
Unlike OnePlus 6 with a big notch, the OnePlus 6T is expected to come with a trending water-drop notch in a bid to give more real estate on the display. In OnePlus 6T, the notch is really small and shaped like a water droplet wrapping around the front camera. While the regular notch had an earpiece, front camera and sensors, the functionality of the water drop notch remain foggy at present mainly due to its size.
Screen Unlock
A few days back OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau confirmed the In-display Fingerprint scanner, a.k.a. Screen Unlock through a forum post on OnePlus Forums. He also added Screen Unlock consolidates a collection of software processes and hardware components, tuned in such a way to work optimally on the OnePlus 6T. Having said that, the Screen Unlock feature will recognise fingerprint with higher accuracy through extended usage. Furthermore, the company has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack as well. As stated by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, removing the headphone jack has freed up more space, allowing them to put more new technology into the product.
Bigger battery
Some rumours and leaks across the Internet so far have been pointing towards the OnePlus 6T equipping a bigger 3700mAh battery for the first time in OnePlus history. Notably, the OnePlus 6T battery is 10% bigger than its predecessor and will be also having OnePlus’ proprietary Dash Charging technology.
Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box
OnePlus 6T will be the first non-Pixel device to ship with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. This indeed is an icing on the cake for the users, since a good and clean software without bloatware and bugs can make a whole lot of difference in the user experience. Keeping this aside, OnePlus, in general, has also been pretty quick with delivering the latest software updates as well.
