Nokia 8 Android 8.1 Oreo update starts rolling out


HMD Global started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo beta update for the  Nokia 8 smartphone last month. Now the company has started rolling out stable Android 8.1 (Oreo) update for the users. This was announced by Chief product officer; Juho Sarvikas on Twitter. The phone recently got a Rs. 8000 price cut in India, and is available for Rs. 28,999.

Android 8.1 brings several new features including Neural Networks API, hamburger emoji fix, Revamped power menu, New Settings Menu, Bluetooth Battery percentage and developer APIs (API level 27), along with the latest optimizations, bug fixes, and security patches. The update also brings battery saving navigation buttons, revamped power menu, new settings menu and Bluetooth battery percentage.

 The Nokia 8 Android 8.1 Oreo update (V4.84A) is 1.56GB in size and includes Android security patch for February 2018. The company already confirmed that the Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 update directly from Android 7.1 and will also include memory management features. Other phones should also get Android 8.1 soon.
