Vivo has launched its latest smartphone in the ‘Y Series’ in India dubbed the Vivo Y55L. The handset is priced at Rs. 11,980 for the offline market and will be made across all retail outlets in the country starting October 15th.

The Vivo Y55L has a 5.2-inch 720p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) processor with Adreno 505 GPU and has 2GB of RAM.
The Vivo Y55L runs Funtouch OS 2.6 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It comes with 16GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. The dedicated microSD card tray along with the 3.5mm audio jack sits on top edge of the Y55L.
The Micro-USB charging / data syncing port is at the bottom along with single loudspeaker grill and the primary microphone. The Y55L supports USB-OTG as well.
The power and volume keys are on the right side.
On camera front, the Vivo Y55L packs an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera with screen flash.
The Vivo Y55L is a dual-SIM (Micro + Nano-SIM) 4G VoLTE device that has a dedicated microSD card slot for external storage expansion up to 128GB. The handset is backed by a 2650mAh non-removable battery, but unfortunately there is no fast charging.
