Huawei Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition unveiled

Huawei has unveiled the Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition, a limited edition series at the IFA. It comes with a 5-inch with a full HD display with sapphire screen, which is the most scratch-resistant material. is the first 4G LTE handset in China with a sapphire screen, says the company. It has crack resistance, superior thermal and infrared conductivity. It uses high-tech ceramic at the rear of the phone to enhance the strength.

Other specifications are similar to the original P7 that includes a quad-core Kirin processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Huawei own Emotion UI, 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony’s BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Commenting on the new limited edition smartphone, Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said,

The arrival of Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition so soon after the launch of Ascend P7 marks a new era in Huawei’s smartphone business. Not only does the new Sapphire Edition demonstrate our advanced craftsmanship, but it also highlights our successful strategic deployment of resources to deliver the most advanced technology into the hands of consumers.

The limited Huawei Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition smartphone which will debut in China in Q3, 2014. No word on pricing or availability for other markets yet.
