Sony has launched the Xperia Z Ultra, their latest flagship Android phone with a 6.44-inch display and a Snapdragon 800 processor in India today. Sony unveiled the Z Ultra last month, and we brought you the hands-on impressions of the device from the launch event. We brought you the photo gallery of the device from the event earlier today. Specifications of the device are mentioned on the back of the box. The phone has IP55 / IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance.
The Xperia Z Ultra is priced at an MRP of Rs. 46,990.
The phone has a huge 6.44-inch Triluminos Display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 342 ppi. It has X-Reality engine that offers rich, natural colours. It has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording.
This is the first device to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor. It has a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. We brought you the mind blowing benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 800 processor on a test device few months back. We can’t wait to run some benchmarks on this device. It packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and also has a micro SD card slot that lets you expand the memory up to 64GB.
The Xperia Z Ultra runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).
The back of the device houses a 8-megapixel camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor. It support 1080p full HD video recording but it doesn’t have and LED flash. It has non-removable back cover. Underneath there is a 3050 mAh battery.
It is the world’s slimmest Full HD 1080p smartphone – at just 6.5 mm thick. But it is quite heavy at 212 grams. It has pen input that recognizes input from a pen or pencil since it has handwriting recognition software.
You don’t realize how big the Z Ultra until you place it next to few other devices available in the market .
