Reliance ties up with Aircel for 2G Intra-circle roaming

Reliance Communications has announced plans to expand its pan-India 2G network through 2G GSM Intra-Circle roaming agreements with existing operators to improve their network coverage. The company has announced that they have signed a pan-India 2G GSM ICR agreement with Aircel. They are in talks with several operators across the country for similar agreements.

This would offer wider coverage and uninterrupted service across the country and also let RCOM’s 2G GSM customers to roam seamlessly on all partner networks, free of any additional cost.

These roaming agreements will increase RCOM’s national 2G GSM network footprint by 10,000 base stations and aims to bring over 150 million customers.  This would also significantly improve both outdoor and in-building coverage, providing enriched mobility and data experience for the Reliance customers. Agreements with existing telecom operators are likely be completed by the end of the second quarter of the financial year.
