Purple Sony Xperia Z Photo Gallery

You might have seen the Sony Xperia Z in the ads recently, and wondered why the purple one looks so unlike reality? Well, it’s rendered in CG and hence all you see are just fake reflections and colours. If you had read our Xperia Z review, you would know why we liked the waterproof aspect of this phone. We already had done a photo gallery too, but alas it was the white version. So, to show you the brilliant purple Xperia Z in its full “real” glory, we decided to take it out and give it a good look in front of our cameras. Bonus is a special video at the end, don’t forget to watch it!

The front of the Xperia Z looks almost the same as the white one, because it’s really hard to notice the purple border that runs around the edges.

That’s the same front face of the device with the screen turned off, and a little bit of water splashed on.

The back, thanks to it being made of glass, we could nicely wipe off water in a jiffy without requiring extra effort, which is good. The photo above was taken while still water was being poured on.

Funny thing about water is, it is conductive in a closed circuit, so when we poured water directly on the display when turned on, random apps that were on the home screen were triggered.

This is the top of the phone, with the 3.5 mm jack sitting inside a flap. As you can see, there are two shades of purple. The center strip is a darker purple while the outer strip that is built for with standing shock is made of plastic and has a different shade.

Those are the sides of the phone, with a similar glass and plastic arrangement and different purple shades.

Oh, and did we mention we conducted a water proof test of the Xperia Z? Yes, we did. Video –
