Nextbit was expected to launch Robin, its “cloud first” Android smartphone in India by the end of April, but the BIS approval for the phone got delayed. Today the company has announced that it has finally received the regulatory approval from the government and will start shipping for Kickstarter backers in the country starting next week, who will get the exclusive Electric color.

To remind you, the Robin packs a 5.2-inch 1080p display, is powered by Snapdragon 808 chip with 3GB RAM, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow), has a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 5MP front facing camera, fingerprint sensor, USB Port-C port, 4G LTE connectivity and a 2680 mAh built-in battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

Nextbit ended its India tour powered by FoneArena earlier this week. Even though the company has not confirmed when the phone would launch in India for consumers, it is expected to arrive later this month. We should get the exact launch date soon.
