Microsoft rolls out Skype for Business app for Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched new Skype for Business app for Windows Phone. Prior to this Skype for Business could be accessed through the Lync 2013 app, but now Skype for Business is getting its own dedicated Windows Phone app.

Skype for Business

Skype for Business will boast of some impressive new features such as more intuitive interface, more emoticons, and improved server communications. The app gets a refreshed UI to make the app usage more intuitive. The app now offers more than 100 emoticons to enhance your chatting experience.

Skype has improved security with at-rest data encryption, so your conversation history and voicemail is encrypted by default. Conversations are now synced across users’ devices such as PC, tablet or phone running the latest server software. Microsoft had replaced Lynch with Skype for Business in November last year. Those with the Lync 2013 app on their Windows Phones automatically will be updated to the new Skype for Business app. Whereas, if you are running windows Phone 8.1 and don’t already have the Lync 2013 app, just download the Skype for Business app.
