Google has updated its Tez mobile payments app that brings support for bill payments, as it had promised. It has support for over 90 billers, including national and state electricity providers, gas and water, and DTH recharge. Some of them include billers like Reliance Energy, BSES and DishTV, and Google says that it will cover all states and major metros in India.

Google launched Tez payments app in India back in September. Today at the Google for India event in Delhi the company said that Tez has seen huge growth in its first 10 weeks of launch. It has processed over 140 million transactions from nearly 12 million active users and over 525,000 merchants are on Tez who pay their suppliers or transfer money to employees. After reports, Google has officially launched Tez, its latest payments app in India. It uses UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and works with all major banks and Google also has Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and soon State Bank of India as partners. You can pay directly from your bank account, so you don’t need to open a separate account recharge wallets. It has several offers such as Scratch Cards offer, Lucky Sundays Lucky Draw Offer and referral rewards for users.
