Google will pay $118 million for settling gender discrimination lawsuit

Google has agreed to pay $118 million to resolve a gender discrimination class-action complaint involving around 15,500 female employees according to Bloomberg. The settlement occurred as a consequence of a lawsuit filed by three women — Kelly Ellis, Holly Pease, and Kelli Wisuri — who accused the corporation of underpaying female employees in violation of California’s Equal Pay Act, citing a $17,000 salary disparity. $5 Billion lawsuit filed against Google for violating user privacy

Another day and yet another lawsuit against Google for breaking privacy laws in the USA. Google’s parent company, Alphabet is being sued for nearly $5 billion in the San Jose Federal Court, California for collecting data from users. Google has denied the claims and has stated that they will vigorously defend themselves in court.
