Essential today announced that it is rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update to its Essential PH-1. Back in January, the company announced that it will skip the 8.0 update for 8.1 and just as it promised it is now rolling to users. Android creator Andy Rubin has confirmed that the Essential Phone is in “full mass production”. Announced in May, the Essential Phone will finally get a release date sometime next week, said Rubin.
