Lenovo on Thursday launched the K3 Note in India at Rs. 9,999. The 4G LTE phablet was first launched in China in March at CNY 899 (approximately Rs. 9,000). We spent some time with the device and here are our quick hands on impressions about it.
Starting with the design, the Lenovo K3 Note looks the same as Lenovo A7000. There’s no difference at all, not even in the handset dimensions, which measures 152.6 x 76.2 x 8mm, but weighs slightly extra with 150 grams.
We liked the A7000 polycarbonate build and matte back, and this too fits and feels right in hands. Front of the device packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display instead of a 5.5-inch 720p display seen on A7000. Here colours looks a bit unnatural and more oversaturated, just like the previous Lenovo A series devices – A6000, A6000 Plus, or even A7000. Also we aren’t a fan of Lenovo’s Vibe UI either.
Just like theA7000, K3 Note also offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support with 4G on both the slots, even though the label mentions the second slot as 2G. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the firm’s Vibe UI on top.
The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core (MediaTek MT6572) processor with 2GB of RAM. The 16GB internal storage on the device is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It also features Dolby Atmos.
The K3 Note packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Both the cameras seems to have decent quality imaging, but this definitely needs a better grilling in our final detailed review. So stay tuned for that.
The Lenovo K3 Note packs a 3000mAh removable battery, which is slightly bumped up from Lenovo A7000’s 2900mAh battery.
The Lenovo K3 Note will be exclusively available on Flipkart. Registrations for the K3 Note has begun already and the first flash sale is scheduled on July 8 at 3PM IST.
Update: Lenovo has confirmed that the smartphone supports 4G on both the slots. We have updated the article accordingly.
