UPDATE – You can read the full review here.

The K900 is Lenovo’s massive flagship device that recently launched in India for Rs. 32,999. Boasting some impressive specs, it has landed in our labs for testing. The huge 5.5 inch 1080p IPS screen is coupled with powerful internals such as the 2 GHz dual core Intel CloverTrail processor and the 13 megapixel Sony Stacked CMOS sensor camera, making it a very impressive package. This got us excited for the unboxing and the initial walkthrough of the device, which we captured in a video here –

Box Contents

Shown above are the box contents. Pretty usual stuff, but we were disappointed by the lame earphones that accompanied the device, Lenovo could have done better. One thing we missed to mention in the video was the SIM ejector tool.

Sitting inside the user manual box, what we initially thought was a logo or something actually turned out to be a SIM tray ejector tool for the phone.

Regarding the phone itself, the display was brilliant. While the phone was slightly uncomfortable to hold at first, I quickly managed to get used to it thanks to my equally massive hands. The user interface seemed ok, but we would love to see stock icons here than round icons, while we are completely fine with the other aspects of the UI, like the modified apps. Also, we noticed that since this is a Chinese retail unit, its English was a bit off in some apps because of a literal translation perhaps.

The build quality is solid and feels great thanks to the brushed metal finish to the back. It does look really good in person! The 13 megapixel camera seems to take really nice pictures, thanks to that amazing stacked CMOS sensor from Sony, and copes well in low light thanks to the f1.8 lens. The plastic on the back feels nice but we feel that it looks kinda cheap with that slightly glossy texture added to it, could’ve been better. The screws showing up on the back are weird as well as interesting, in terms of design choice, definitely makes the device look more macho.

All said, we will be bringing in lot more coverage of the Lenovo K900. Do check back for the complete review and keep an eye on our YouTube channel for more K900 videos as they arrive.
