Amazfit Helio Strap Pro with multi-point sensing announced

Amazfit has announced the Helio Strap Pro. Designed specifically for HYROX and hybrid fitness athletes, this screen-free training system expands upon the company’s original Helio Strap by incorporating a secondary, waist-mounted motion sensor. The combined setup aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of cardio effort, movement quality, and muscle load during high-intensity training.

Expanding the Hybrid Training System

The Helio Strap Pro introduces a multi-point sensing architecture designed to overcome the tracking limitations associated with traditional wrist-based wearables during functional fitness routines. The system divides monitoring duties across two distinct hardware components:

  • Helio Core Motion HR: Worn on the upper arm, this module utilizes a BioTracker™ 6.0 PPG biometric sensor to monitor heart rate. By positioning the sensor closer to the heart and away from the wrist, the system mitigates data interference commonly caused by gripping, wrist flexion, and equipment contact during functional movements.
  • Helio Core Motion Waist: Secured at the user’s waist using the Helio Pro Clip, this dedicated motion sensor captures core-body movement, positioning, and stability under load.

At launch, the multi-sensor system integrates directly with the HYROX Race and HYROX Simulation modes available on the Amazfit Balance 3 and Balance Ultra smartwatches. The smartwatch tracks wrist-based performance metrics, while the dual Helio sensors collect concurrent data across the body. Amazfit noted that support for additional smartwatches within its lineup is planned for future updates.

Post-Workout Analysis and Ecosystem Integration

Data captured during workouts is compiled within the Zepp App, which aggregates cardio effort, movement metrics, and muscle load into a structured post-workout overview. The platform is optimized to evaluate performance across the eight mandatory HYROX competition stations:

  1. SkiErg
  2. Sled Push
  3. Sled Pull
  4. Burpee Broad Jumps
  5. Rowing
  6. Farmer’s Carry
  7. Sandbag Lunges
  8. Wall Balls
Screen-Free Operation and “HybridCharge” Intelligence

Because the hardware is screen-free, the sensors can continuously track data even if the athlete removes their smartwatch. The companion app features HybridCharge™ Energy Intelligence, an analytical framework incorporating BioCharge, Training Load, and LifeLoad metrics. This feature is designed to illustrate how workouts, recovery, and daily stressors (such as travel or fatigue) impact an athlete’s physical capacity over time.

Connectivity and Third-Party Syncing

The system supports open connectivity via Bluetooth 5.2. Real-time heart rate broadcasts can be shared with compatible third-party sports watches, cycling computers, fitness equipment, and training apps. Additionally, the system links with peripheral Bluetooth LE devices, including running or cycling power meters and speedometers. Health and activity trends can be synchronized directly with external platforms like Strava, Apple Health, Google Fit, TrainingPeaks, Runna, adidas Running, komoot, and Relive.
