OnePlus N6 to launch in India on June 30th

After teasers, OnePlus has announced the introduction of its new N Series smartphone lineup in India, targeting the Rs.18,000–Rs.25,000 market segment. The first device under this new category, the OnePlus N6, is scheduled to launch on June 30.

This move represents a strategic expansion of the company’s product portfolio in India, which remains one of the world’s largest mobile markets, recording over 152 million smartphone shipments in 2025.

A Three-Tiered Market Strategy

With the launch of the N Series, OnePlus India will restructure its smartphone offerings into three distinct price tiers. This categorical shift allows the brand to cover a broader consumer base, stretching from budget-conscious buyers to premium flagship consumers.

Product Series Price Segment Target Consumer & Focus
N Series ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 Gen Z and “neo” generation; emphasizes long battery life, everyday performance, and accessibility.
Nord Series ₹25,000 – ₹50,000 Aspirational buyers; focuses on delivering flagship-inspired features at mid-range prices.
Flagship Series ₹50,000 and above Premium market; features advanced performance hardware, premium design, and top-tier innovations.
Targeting the Gen Z Demographic

The N Series is specifically positioned to capture India’s sizable demographic of young consumers. Currently, India is home to approximately 377 million Gen Z individuals, who collectively drive an estimated 44% of all smartphone purchases in the country.

Industry data indicates that younger demographics increasingly utilize their mobile devices as primary screens for a variety of tasks, including content creation, digital learning, entertainment, and casual gaming. According to OnePlus management, the “N” in the series name stands for “New, Neo, and Never Off,” signaling a design focus on high-capacity battery performance and consistent usability to match these high-engagement habits.

Infrastructure and Service Expansion

The portfolio expansion follows structural adjustments to OnePlus’ operational strategy in India. Earlier this year, the company optimized its retail channel approach and expanded its customer service infrastructure. By leveraging the existing footprint of its parent organization, OPPO, OnePlus increased its service network from 400 to 500 centers nationwide.

As usual, the phone will be available from Amazon.in, the OnePlus India online store, and offline stores. Further details regarding the specifications, pricing, and availability of the upcoming OnePlus N6 will be disclosed in the weeks leading up to the June 30 launch.
