Samsung brings Ultra High Speed MicroSD cards for LTE Smartphones and Tablets

Samsung has announced that they have started producing Ultra High Speed-1 (UHS-1) MicroSD cards for LTE (Long Term Evolution) smartphones and tablets. This would offer highest performance levels that are faster than the current generation memory cards.

The Samsung UHS-1 memory card comes in 16GB and is said to offer maximum sequential read speed of 80 MB/s that is 4 times higher than the advanced current-gen class 10 memory cards, that offers 21MB/s read speeds.

The faster speeds it offers are due to the 20 nanometer-class 64 gigabit (Gb) toggle DDR 2.0 devices and an advanced Samsung controller supporting the ultra fast UHS-1 interface.

There is no pricing or exact availability as of now, but we can expect it in the second part of this year. They also plan to introduce higher capacity versions of this card.
