motorola edge 70 Pro+ Unboxing and First Impressions


motorola launched the edge 70 Pro+ smartphone in India today after the launch of the edge 70 Pro in April. This has the same screen, SoC, and battery from the edge 70 Pro, but adds a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera and wireless charging. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

Starting with the screen, the edge 70 Pro+ has a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED curved display with 144Hz refresh rate, and the peak brightness is 5200 nits. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The phone has a 50MP camera on the front with up to 4K 60fps video recording. The earpiece works as the secondary speaker. It has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. The bezels are minimal.

The phone has a 7.19mm sleek design. The phone has a plastic frame with a matte finish. The volume rockers and the power button are present on the right side. The dedicated AI key is present on the left side. The dual SIM slot, USB Type-C port, and speaker grill are present on the right side. The secondary microphone is on the top, along with Dolby Atmos branding.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC, which is a good upgrade compared to Dimensity 8350 Extreme in the edge 60 Pro, the phone only comes in an 12GB LPDDR5X RAM version and has 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and will get 3 Android OS updates and 5 years of security updates. It has moto AI 2.0 features such as Next Move, AI Image Studio, Sketch to Image, Style Sync, Text to Sticker, Catch Me Up 2.0, Pay Attention live transcriptions, AI Playlist Studio, Global Search, Auto Screenshot Blur, This On That, Remember This and Recall act.

It has a 50MP main camera with LYTIA-710 sensor, OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with support for macro, and a 50MP 3.5X periscope telephoto camera with OIS. All the cameras support 4K 60fps video recording. Check out some camera samples.

It has IP68 + IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and has military-grade durability. The PANTONE Zinfandel has a textured Satin-Luxe finish on the back that feels smooth to touch and doesn’t get fingerprints.

In addition, the phone also comes in Twill-Inspired PANTONE Stormy Sea and a Sculpted wooden finish version, PANTONE Chicory Coffee. Even with a sleek design, the phone packs a 6500mAh battery compared to 6000mAh in the edge 60 Pro. There is 90W TurboPower fast charging, and it also has 15W wireless charging.

Priced at Rs. 47,999, the phone will be available for Rs. 44,999 with the bank offer from June 11th across Flipkart, motorola.in and offline stores.
