Samsung Wallet gets Trips feature for travel management

Samsung has announced the addition of a new feature called “Trips” to Samsung Wallet. The update is designed to assist Samsung Galaxy users in organizing and managing their travel itineraries and related documents within a single application.

Core Features and Functionality

The primary function of Trips is to consolidate eligible travel items into a unified Trip timeline. When users add travel documents to Samsung Wallet, the system automatically groups them based on variables such as time and location. This allows travelers to view their itinerary sequentially, even if the booking details originate from multiple sources.

The Trips feature supports the management of various travel and entertainment-related bookings, including:

  • Flight itineraries and boarding passes
  • Hotel reservations
  • Car rentals
  • Train and bus tickets
  • Excursions and guided tours
  • Tickets for theme parks and sporting events

In addition to automated grouping, users have the option to manually add itinerary items. The feature also includes a memo function, enabling users to attach custom notes, plans, or reminders to specific saved items throughout their journey.

Platform Expansion and Security

According to Samsung, the integration of Trips is part of an ongoing effort to expand the utility of Samsung Wallet through new features and partner integrations. The application serves as a centralized hub for everyday digital essentials, ranging from payment cards to event tickets.

Data stored within Samsung Wallet, including the new Trips feature, is secured by Samsung Knox. The security platform utilizes encryption and biometric authentication to protect sensitive user information and ensure that data is only accessible to the device owner.

Availability

The Trips feature will begin rolling out to compatible Samsung Galaxy mobile phones starting in April 2026. Initial availability will be limited to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea.

Regarding this, Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

Travel plans are often scattered across confirmations, apps and messages, and that creates friction at the exact moments people need clarity. By bringing Trips to Samsung Wallet, we’re giving Galaxy users a single place to keep their trip details organized and stay one step ahead as their plans unfold.
